Apple picking Top 9

Updated: September 2018

I love fall. The crisp, fresh air, the beautiful red, yellow, and orange leaves, and of course, apples! Fall is just around the corner, and I must admit I’m ready for crisp fall air. I have visions of homemade apple pie, caramel apples and applesauce in my head, and I could go for a cup of warm apple cider after a relaxing stroll in the park this morning.

Lucky for us, there are several great orchards to visit in the Twin Cities for a fun-filled day of apple picking, and many of these orchards offer so much more than the traditional hayride to your choice of an apple tree. So pack a picnic blanket, grab your camera, and get your family together for a day of exciting activities and good food at some of the best apple orchards in the Twin Cities.

Aamodt’s Apple Farm – Stillwater

Aamodt’s Apple Farm is now open for the season! Visitors may pick their apples (availability does vary) or purchase a variety of apples and other goodies in the apple barn. Starting Saturday, Sept 8, Aamodt’s Apple Farm will also be hosting a variety of fun fall activities. For example, families should plan on spending a few good hours at Aamodt’s because the kids will want to take a ride on the Honeycrisp Express kiddie train and try the FREE treasure hunt throughout the farm with a FREE apple donut at the end of the hunt (TIP: treasure hunt is only Monday through Thursday)! The apple farm also has a play structure to keep the kiddos entertained while parents sit on a picnic blanket and enjoy apple bratwurst and maybe even a glass of wine from St. Croix Vineyards.

There is no admission fee; however, most of the activities do require a small fee.

Be sure to show your Twin Cities Kids Club card card for a special deal when you visit Aamodt’s! When our members buy one caramel apple, they get a second caramel apple for half off! This special offer is good September and October, Monday through Thursday 10 AM to 6 PM.
