Take a Mom Fishing Weekend

Saturday, May 7th – Sunday, May 8th, All Day Throughout Minnesota

This event is FREE for families! 

If your mother is a Minnesota resident, she can fish for free in any Minnesota lake during Mother’s Day weekend! Mom can catch any fish that is currently included in the open fishing season!

Mother’s Day Petting Zoo at the Mustard Seed Garden Center

This event is FREE for families! 

The Hasse Farms Family Petting Zoo will be on display, so come and greet some furry friends! When you’re done, visit the on-site food trucks for BBQ, cheesecake, and more!

This event is $19 per child and caregiver duo and open to kids 1.5 through 7 years old. 

Spend quality time as child and a caregiver work together to create a flower bouquet painting on canvas featuring the child’s handprints! 

Mama + Me Make and Takes at MiniSota Play Cafe

This event is $60 per child (five and up) and caregiver duo.  

Children can work with a caregiver to craft all-natural beauty and body care items for mom – or anyone! 

Free Salsa Dance Lessons at Midtown Global Market

This event is FREE for families! 

Professional salsa dancer Rene Thompson will teach families a free salsa dancing lesson in the center court of the Market.

This event is $45 – $90 per participant nine and up, depending on the project selected. Children nine to thirteen must enroll with a paying adult.

Sunday Special: Wildflowers, Honey & Ice Cream at Wood Lake Nature Center

This event is $5 per person or FREE for members. 

Learn about pollinators on this scenic wildflower hike, then use local honey to create your own ice cream treat! Children will have the opportunity to make a card for Mom at the event.
