YWCA St. Paul’s Juneteenth Community Celebration

YWCA St. Paul invites you to join them for music and entertainment on Saturday, June 18 at Boyd Park in St. Paul to celebrate and acknowledge a period in our history that shaped and continues to influence our society today.
Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. From its Galveston, Texas origin in 1865, the observance of June 19th as the African American Emancipation Day has spread across the United States and beyond.
Today, Juneteenth commemorates African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement.

YWCA St. Paul’s Juneteenth celebration will include entertainment from:
– Jearlyn Steele, singer & emcee
– Vie Boheme, dancer
– Thomasina Petrus and Band
– Beverly Cottman, storyteller
– Brittany Delaney, spoken word artist
– SingHers, acapella group
– Johnnie Brown, singer
– Adrian Perryman, DJ
– And more!
Food trucks include:
– Nani’s Deep-Fried Pound Cake
– The Kitchen – Home of the Turkey Chop
– 9 Yum Yum Ice Cream
Kids’ activities include:
– Science experiments with 3M Wizards
– Children’s Museum Big Orange Dance Machine
– St. Paul Public Libary Bookmobile
– Dodge Nature Center
