The Big Leaf Leap Storytime Event at the Red Balloon Bookshop
September 10 @ 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM CDTFree
Join Red Balloon Bookshop in a storytime event to celebrate THE IHEARDS, the newest picture book by local author, Emily Kilgore!
About this event:
Jump in to Fall with your friends at Red Balloon Bookshop along with local author Molly Beth Griffin and illustrator Meleck Davis as we celebrate the release of their seasonal picture book, The Big Leaf Leap!
A young girl wants a leaf pile to leap in. A big leaf pile, a huge leaf pile, an enormously enormous leaf pile! But no matter how much she rakes, there are not enough leaves in her yard to make the leaf pile of her dreams. She will need some help. The Big Leaf Leap is the perfect way to usher in the Fall, so join them for a parking lot party on Saturday morning! Molly Beth Griffin and Meleck Davis will read aloud from the book and guide friends through fun autumnal activities. There will be time for questions from the audience, of course! Following the event, Molly and Meleck will sign copies of the book and guests are welcome to themed takeaway items and treats.
In the event of unsavory weather, we’ll move indoors. Check back on the website and our socials for weather updates.
To Attend: All are welcome, but please RSVP using the buttons below to help us ensure you have a chair. You can register for a ticket through September 10, 8:30am. Additional books will be available for purchase the day of the event. Red Balloon does not require masks for outdoor events, but if the event moves indoors masks will be required. We will have disposable masks on hand if you would like one and find yourself without.
Signing Guidelines: Following the happenings, Molly and Meleck will sign and personalize copies of the book. If you would prefer not to stay for the signing portion, Red Balloon is happy to have your books signed and personalized for you and will contact you when they’re ready to be picked up. Please include any personalization requests in the order comments of your purchase.
