Sensory Friendly Sunday at the Walker Art Center

Sensory Friendly Sunday is a monthly event designed for kids, teens, and adults with sensory processing differences, autism spectrum disorder, or developmental disabilities. The galleries will be closed to the general public, allowing visitors to enjoy the museum in a calm environment with accommodations such as quiet spaces, fidgets, and sunglasses available. Experience current Walker exhibitions Five Ways In and Liz Larner: Don’t put it back like it was, create your own artwork with artist Nicole Thomas, and watch a short, family friendly film!
Admission Tickets:
Timed tickets are now required for all visitors. For Sensory Friendly Sundays, you will have the option of 8 am, 9 am, or 10 am time slots. Please arrive during the hour you selected. Once inside the museum, you can stay as long as you want. Reserve your tickets here.
Limited walk-up tickets are available in-person at the front desk if the time slot you are interested in is full.
Masks are required at Sensory Friendly Sunday by visitors over the age of 2.
Short Film Information:
Stop by the Bentson Mediatheque to watch a short film! The film will loop between 8 and 11 am, capacity is limited to 10 people at a time. This is a relaxed screening with sound reduced, appropriate for all ages. Visitors are free to come and go, move, and otherwise make themselves comfortable in the space. Please maintain 6 feet distance from people not in your household group. The film will be captioned.

Information About the Art Making Project:
Join artist Nicole Thomas in the Art Lab to create a paper seed ball with a message to Mother Earth! Art Lab capacity is limited to 18 people at a time.
