Monticello Riverfest is a 4 day community event held in July! From Thursday through Sunday they hold many community favorite events: Community Parade, Street Dance, Duck Races, Art in the Park, Fireworks, Car Show, 5K Food, Fun and so much more!
THURSDAY 5:30pm – 8:00pm
o Collector Car Show – hundreds of collector cars and trucks will be in the grassy area at the West End of Pioneer Park for all to see and admire
o Home Depot Kids Building Clinic – Kids can explore their carpentry skills by choosing a small wooden project and assembling it to take home with the assistance of family and staff
o Food Concessions – Sloppy Joe Dinner and Hot Dogs will be available at the Pioneer Park Pavilion and under a tent near the car show. Snow cones and root beer floats will also be available for purchase
o The Wright County Sheriff’s Office will hold a Canine Demonstration Show
o Petting Zoo & Pony Rides – Children’s pony rides are available for purchase and at no cost, several small animals will be on exhibit
o Kids Games – Kids play area will be on the West side of the pavilion.
o Pie Eating contest
FRIDAY 7:30pm – Dusk
Friday night is all about the Wow! Beginning with the Monticello Talent Show at the Monticello High School that is sure to excited everyone of all ages! For a small fee, you can come watch all of the talent Monticello has to offer!
At Dusk, prepare to be amazed by the Fireworks Show located on The Monticello High School Grounds.
SATURDAY 8:30am – 11:30pm
On Saturday, they have something for everyone – fitness, athletics, shopping, food, music, etc!
Start your morning off with the Monticello Riverfest 5K at 8:30am at West Bridge Park. Including a Fun Run for Kids at 9am.
The Monticello Chamber is hosting their Annual Art in the Park/Taste of Monticello from 8:00am-3:00pm in Ellison Park, support local restaurants at Taste of Monticello from 10am-3pm.
The big Riverfest Bean Bag Tournament is at 10am at Ellison Park.
Wrap up the day with music, dancing and food with your family, friends and the entire community behind the Monticello Community Center! Betty Danger starts at 6:00 pm followed by Maiden Dixie taking the stage at 8:00pm!
SUNDAY 9am- 5pm
Sunday Morning Community worship begins at 9am at Ellison Park. All are welcome!
The Parade kicks off at 12pm
The Famous Monticello Rubber Duck Drop is a must see! Ducks will be dropped from the bridge at roughly 3:30pm and race to the finish line!
THE CRISPY CHICKEN DINNER IS BACK!! Tickets will be sold prior to Riverfest
End the perfect day by coming on down to Ellison park to watch the Duck Drop (don’t forget to adopt your duck prior), have a bit of food from their concessions, check out the kids activities/games, try your luck at bingo and listen to music while closing the weekend out with family and friends! Activities go from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm Ellison Park. The Duck drop begins at roughly 3:30pm!
