75th 4th in the Park

It’s almost that special time of year again, where you pull out your flag, grab your lawn chair and put on your red, white and blue…because the annual 4th in the Park parade and picnic are almost here!
They’re excited to celebrate the 75th anniversary with you! They’ll be continuing with some recent additions to the celebration including the Back to the 4th Happy Hour and several food truck options. Additionally, the kid’s zone will be located on the south end of the park again and will include ponies, an inflatable obstacle course, and races!
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS FOR THE 75TH ANNUAL 4TH IN THE PARK:
8 am LANGFORD PARK RUNNING RACES
Register online for the 2 or 4 mile race before the 4th at: tinyurl.com/4thRaces2022
No registration day of the race. Races start at 8:30. $10 registration fee.
10:30 am GRAND PARADE ASSEMBLY
Children’s bikes, trikes, wagons, etc. assemble at Ned’s Park Service. Bands, vehicles and marching units assemble at Luther Place.
11 am GRAND PARADE BEGINS
Proceeding from Luther Place, down Como Avenue to Langford Park via Knapp Avenue. Parade includes color guard, neighborhood units, bands, floats, mascots, music, and much more!
12 pm BANDSTAND PROGRAM
Following the parade, a program including the Spirit in the Park award winner and music from the Saint Anthony Park Community Band will take place at the bandstand in Langford Park.
FOOD TRUCKS OPEN
Hungry? Eat from a variety of food trucks lined up along Langford Park East.
HORSESHOES, VOLLEYBALL & PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENTS
Registration and check-in is from 12pm to 12:45pm. Tournaments begins sharply at 1 pm
1 pm–4pm PIG’S EYE JASS BAND, GOOD MORNING BEDLAM &
LIGHT OF THE MOON PERFORM AT THE BANDSTAND
PONY RIDES & KID’S ACTIVITIES
All kid’s activities are on the south end of the park behind the recreation center. Kids can go for a pony ride or take a turn on the inflatable obstacle course!
2:30 pm – 4 pm RACES & CONTESTS
Family fun events for kids of all ages!
4 pm – 6 pm BACK TO THE 4TH HAPPY HOUR
Keep the celebration going at the Sunrise Banks parking lot on the corner of Como Avenue and Doswell Avenue where you’ll be able to hear the tunes of Bob & the Beachcombers and enjoy some local brews. $20 for entry into beer garden. Be sure to bring your ID. Music and dance floor are free!
