Last week Twin Cities Kids Club attended the grand opening, ribbon-cutting ceremony at the brand new Build-A-Bear Workshop store at the Mall of America. We have to say that we are very impressed with the store’s new design and product selection (and so were our kids!). The revamped store re-opened on September 1 at its original location at MOA near the Rotunda, and it has a whole new look, feel, and experience that is much more inviting and appealing.
For many years Twin Cities families have enjoyed making wonderful memories and have celebrated birthdays and other special events with their kids at Build-A-Bear Workshop at the Mall of America. However, the new store will surely enhance this experience for local families and visitors from all over the world. The layout of the revamped store is much more spacious, making it a comfortable place for customers to stroll and look around at the great selection of characters, outfits, and accessories that are available. And when families are ready for the big moment of stuffing their new furry friends, all they need to do is spot the bigger and better Build-A-Bear stuffer that is conveniently located in the center of the store. The stuffer is seven feet tall so you and your kids can’t miss it!
It was exciting to be a part of the ribbon-cutting ceremony last week and to finally see what Build-A-Bear has been working on over the past few months of its remodel, but the most exciting part of all was watching our kids enjoy the experience of creating their own custom furry friends. The kids were amazed by the new Star Wars, Lalaloopsy, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collection, and they couldn’t believe that they could also choose a scent and sound for their stuffed animals. While the kids were beaming with excitement and joy, we soaked up the special moments of seeing our kiddos look so proud of what they had created.
The store’s new layout and design are much more welcoming, but the employees also did a wonderful job of interacting with our children to make the whole experience fun, magical, and engaging. The employees showed the kids around the store and helped them during the process of creating their custom characters. The kids were able to help stuff their animals, and they even got to make special wishes on the hearts of their new furry creatures before the employees finished sewing the characters together. The kids also got to help out at the checkout counter by blowing open the boxes that were used to safely transport their new friends home.
It was an honor to attend the ribbon-cutting event last week, and we believe that many Twin Cities families will fall in love with Build-A-Bear all over again when they visit the new store. If you are looking for a unique gift for someone, or somewhere special to celebrate your child’s birthday, Build-A-Bear is a great place for making special memories and new friends. And the fun doesn’t end after visiting the store. Build-A-Bear has also expanded its entertainment offerings by launching some fun apps for kids as well as Bearville Alive! on YouTube.
